Number of units of the recalled cars were 7982 units. The model is drawn Civic 2001-2003 production year 3180 the number of units and the CR-V in production in 2002 amounted to 4802 units. The recall was due to an error inflator mechanism on the front passenger side airbags that could burst at any time and result in pieces of plastic flying into the passenger compartment.
Later inflator components will be replaced at no charge. Replacement of this component will begin on May 10, 2013 and the program will run for 6 months. This replacement process takes about 60 minutes.
